Who we are

We are an entrepreneurship development consulting firm located in Johannesburg and Durban, South Africa.  In 2013, we saw an opportunity to assist and support owners of small and medium enterprises to run successful and sustainable businesses. Today, Matoyana has grown to an organisation that not only enables SMEs to thrive, but also promotes a culture of entrepreneurship, creativity and innovative thinking.

The name Matoyana originates from the founder’s ancestral family name. This inspires our business values of having an afro-centric mindset and value base. Hence our business model is driven embracing the principles of shared value, social entrepreneurship; collaboration and the sharing economy. We do this with a focus on creativity, innovation and problem solving. As such, our clients and service providers alike are part of our value chain and are promoted within our networks through referrals and proposed collaborations, where relevant.

We believe in making entrepreneurial knowledge accessible, so people can solve their own problems and create their own opportunities.
